After Mumbai, Nagpur goes democratic

In the same week, another unit, which was once upon a time very vibrant at the local as well as at the national level, but which had become dormant almost for the past several years, NAGPUR, has been revived.

An Extra-Ordinary General Body meeting in which 74 members participated has decided to revive the unit by a democratic process and send a delegate to the Chennai Convention.

The resolutions passed in the meeting are seen in the photo given above.

  AIASCT stands recognised. It has taken more than 4 years for the process to be completed.  The first set of DDO Certificates in the name of AIACEGEO had been submitted in January 2018.  Then after protracted correspondence, meetings, etc, the Board decided that unless both claimants using the name of AIACEGEO come together, recognition could not be renewed in that name and hence both parties have to come with two different names to enable verification of their membership strength, based on which alone the renewal can be granted.  This decision was on 3.12.2020.  On the very night, our CEC had met online and adopted a new name AIASCT and also a Constitution and communicated it to the Board on 4.12.2020 and sought renewal of recognition in the new name.  Fresh DDO certificates were obtained in that new name and submitted to the Board.  The Board thereafter took its own time to verify and re-verify these DDO Certificates and has at last granted renewal ...

One again on 1.1.96

  Once again I have started getting phone calls from different parts of the country regarding whether they can also approach the Tribunal Benches in their area for getting the benefit of 1.1.96 granted to the 13 persons consequent to the judgment of the Hon’ble High Court of Kolkatta and/or citing the Hyderabad CAT order. Let me give a brief of the issue first: 1) The GoI grants higher pay scales for Inspectors of CBI, IB, Andaman & Nicobar Police and Delhi Police with effect from 1.1.1986. 2) The Jabalpur CAT mandates the 5th CPC to see if the Inspectors of Central Excise, IT etc are also on par with the Inspectors of CBI, etc and if so to grant the same pay. 3) The 5th CPC holds that Inspectors of CBI, IB etc are on par with the Inspectors of Central Excise, IT etc, but none of them are on par with the Police (i.e Delhi and Andaman & Nicobar Plice). 1.1.96- what next?

What next, after the Judgment of the Hon'ble High Court of Calcutta in the matter of 1.1.96? -R. Manimohan Many individuals, who are retired as well as serving and some Office Bearers of Associations have contacted me regarding what is to be done in the matter of re-fixation of pay scales of Inspectors,  Superintendents, ITOs, and equivalent cadres in the CBIC and CBDT with effect from 1.1.96 consequent to the Hon'ble High Court judgment  of Calcutta. Some of them have contacted me since I have been associated with this issue ever since 1994, when Com. Rahate and Com. Rudra Mani Mishra of Indore Inspectors' Association had approached the Jabalpur CAT and I was one of those who collected some amount for fighting the case when the then SG of the Inspectors" Federation Com.
